World Cancer Day: BRECAN Opens Abuja Centre For Breast Screening Feb. 4

Wife of the Ondo State Governor and founder of Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN) Chief (Mrs) Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu will inaugurate the Abuja chapter of the association (BRECAN) on Sunday February 4th 2018, at the NAF Conference Center Abuja.

According to her, the event will also feature a public lecture and fund raising for the organization while a keynote address will be delivered by Dr. U. N Shagaya.

She also told SilverbirdTV how BRECAN had created awareness in Imo State on Thursday when it Organised a town hall meeting on breast cancer as part of activities on the campaign against breast cancer and awareness.

According to her from the event was part of activities marking the 2018 world cancer day and it took place at the auditorium of the Imo State University, Owerri.

The occasion was chaired by a renowned medical consultant, Revd Dr Angelica Anele, from the Federal Medical Center Owerri and featured investiture of Imo State executives of BRECAN, fund raising and clinical breast clinic among others.

According to her, the clinical breast screening programme commenced by 8 in the morning, while the investiture proper came up by 2pm same day.

The Special Guests of honour are the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha and his wife, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, while His Royal Majesty Eze Samuel Ohiri, Eze of Imo and his queen Ugoeze Chioma were the Royal Father and Royal mother of the day respectively.
