We Give You Our Territory! Agulu Community Adopts Obiano Till 2023

The Governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano, has been adopted by Agulu community for November 18 gubernatorial election.

This was disclosed while the governor was hosted by the Agulu community in appreciation of his outstanding performances and in ensuring that the community benefited from his administration.

In a welcome speech, the President General of Agulu People’s Union, Chief Andy Orakwelu who recalled how they had in 2013 supported Gov Obiano to continue from where his predecessor stopped, said the Governor had shown that he has all it takes to take the state to the promised land and therefore assured him that their mandate to him ends in 2022.

Gov Obiano used the occasion to reaffirm his resolve to complete all the projects left at various stages of completion by his predecessor.

The governor who was hosted at the Agulu Townhall revealed that his administration has invested heavily towards the completion of the Golden Tulip Hotels, Agulu. He pointed out that other major projects he inherited from his predecessor were progressing at various levels and would be completed under his watch.

He revealed that in his second term, a lot of efforts will be channeled towards youths entrepreneurship programmes to be powered financially through the Anambra State Small Business Agency, Asba.

While noting that his administration has given Ndi Agulu much sense of belonging in the scheme of things, Gov Obiano promised that his second term will witness more life-changing programmes for the people.

The member representing Anaocha One constituency in the State Assembly, Mr Azubuike Okoye enumerated some of the dividends of democracy that Gov Obiano has done for them, including the upgrade of Agulu Hospital, completion of the former Agulu Lake Resort, construction of modern abbatoir under the choose-your-project initiative, roads and the appointments of indigenes of Agulu into high positions.

In their separate remarks, the Woman President- General, Mrs Theresa Akubueze and the Youth Leader of the Community, Mr Ejike Okoye aligned themselves on behalf of their various groups to the endorsement of governor Obiano, saying that his government has favoured them.

A motion was later moved and adopted for Gov Obiano as the community’s sole candidate in next Saturday’s guber election in the state, which was assented to by the general Assembly through voice vote.
