Some traditional rulers in Anambra state have taken it upon themselves to enforce the social distance order imposed on the state by Governor Willy Obiano to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Reports have it that a traditional ruler in Anambra State, HRH Igwe Gerald Obunadike Mbamalu of Ojoto, in Idemili South LGA (Eze Oranyelu 1 na Eze Ojoto 111) led a community task force on Friday morning, 27th March 2020 to shut down a burial ceremony at Akabor Ojoto. The ceremony was being held in disobedience to the state government’s directives for the fight against Coronavirus, reports Igbere TV.
The Anambra State government had given out various directives banning public gathering of 30 people and more, suspension of burials, traditional weddings and other community festivals.
