In spite of the outrage caused by Jacob Zuma’s statue in Owerri, Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha plans to unveil the statue of another President of an African country (this time Liberia) in the state capital.
Okorocha announced that Liberian Head of state, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf will be visiting Imo state tomorrow (Thrsday, November 9).
Gov Okorocha wrote on his Twitter page;
“The Liberian President, Mrs Ellen Johnson Sirleaf set to arrive our dear Imo State for a two day working visit on Thursday 9th Nov. 2017”
A Nigerian lady, @116Olivia who shared a photo of Sirleaf’s statue taken while it was still under construction, and it was reported that the statue will be unveiled on Thursday.
The lady wrote that there are 8 statues still under construction. No one knows which Heads of State are behind the black nylon bags covering the unfinished statues.
