Warning! This ‘Life-threatening Ailment’ May Befall You If You Sleep Longer Than Usual – Study

After a stressful week at work or college, you might want to do nothing else but go to bed early and stay in bed all morning/afternoon.
But scientists have come out with some harsh news about the guilty pleasure so many of us enjoy.
Like all of life’s great pleasures, a prolonged stay in bed in the morning (also known as lie-in) is apparently bad for you.
“It’s basically like taking long flights and hanging around airports,” says sleep researcher, Susanna Jernelöv.

“It’s partly because of our circadian rhythm, so when you sleep in later, it’s like giving yourself a bit of jet-lag and jet-lag makes you less bright and perky,” she warns.
Lie-ins are bad for you for more than just making you tired, according to various studies, however.
A study by the University of Cambridge found that people who sleep more were 46 per cent more likely to have a stroke than those who sleep for the recommended length of time.
The study looked at 10,000 people between the ages of 42 and 82 for almost 10 years and that was the result they found after the intensive research.
So, next time you’re tired after a long hard week, remember, a lie-in seems like a good idea, but it’s probably not worth the negative effects on your body.
Instead, having a good sleeping pattern is far better for you.
