The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has commended Association of Communication Scholars & Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) for its impactful efforts in taking communication practices in Africa to enviable heights.
This was disclosed in a letter to ACSPN dated January 31, 2020, and signed by its Regional Director, Mt Yao Ydo, UNESCO. The letter noted:
“Over the years UNESCO has worked with and studied the activities of ACSPN. Your resilient efforts in bridging the gap in areas of communication with emphasis on domesticating best practices in every sector of Nigeria, including governance, is a cornerstone”.
UNESCO also promised to partner ACSPN, on its 7th Annual Conference on “Communicating Identities and Nationhood: The Media, the Government and the People”. The conference is scheduled to hold from September 2-3, 2020, at Rockview Hotel Royale, Wuse 1, Abuja.
UNESCO also promised to provide technical support to ensure the success of the conference, and to promote its success through its social media platforms.
This endorsement is significant and signposts the involvement of key stakeholders in the conference and its cutting-edge sessions.
This is truly a rare endorsement which promises to make the upcoming ACSPN conference a must-attend for every communication scholar in Nigeria.
