By Kingsley Ezekwelu

High profile Nigerian musician, Mr Innocent Idibia popularly known as Tuface, and members of the Vote, Not Fight Campaign train have stormed Anambra State to propagate their message of peace during the up-coming governorship elections in the state.

Tuface and his team were rceived by the state governor, Willie Obiano at the Governor’s Lodge, Awka.

The Celebrity who is the founder of Tuface Foundation was in the state with the team and other partners, as part of efforts to mobilize Anambra Youths to participate actively in the upcoming governorship election and to shun any form of election violence.

While addressing the group, Gov Obiano said Anambra is a peaceful state with citizens who understand their role in promoting good governance, noting that that is the reason why they had voted the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA)consistently in the past three dispensations.

He however harped on the need for the group to take the campaign to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and the Security agencies to emphasize the need to be neutral in their role during the election.

According to him, the only reason why there could be crisis, was when anybody attempts to thwart the people’s collective mandate but aside that, the upcoming election would be peaceful.

Gov Obiano while commending the group for the initiative, maintained that APGA, as the party in power in the state is a peaceful one, with a slogan that encourages brotherliness and also has a tradition of winning elections fair and square.

Tuface, the project Ambassador in his remarks, commended the Governor for his peaceful stance on the election which aligns with their ultimate objective, adding that they are focusing mainly on youths because of their vulnerability to violence occasioned by the high rate of unemployment in the country.

One of the coordinators of the programme in the state, Mr Nonso Orakwe in his remarks promised that with the assurances by the governor, they would partner his administration to get the message to all nooks and crannies of the state to meet the target of the campaign.
