A primary school teacher in China has been caught on camera forcing his female students to smell his feet during a lesson. CCTV footage shows teacher Lian lifting his foot towards the face of three female students as they did their homework, reported Shenzhen Television Station.
The pupils’ parents filed complaints to the school’s headmaster, but teacher Lian claimed ‘it was just a joke’. The headmaster said he would ‘criticise’ the teacher.
According to Shenzhen Television Station, the incident took place in Da Peng No. 2 Primary School in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, on December 21.
Mrs Di, the parent of one of the pupils, learnt about the incident after her daughter said the teacher ‘forced her and two other girls in the class to smell his foot’.
Her daughter said the teacher asked them if his foot was stinky.
The parents filed a complaint to headmaster, Liu Yude, and requested to watch the surveillance camera footage.
The clip shows the teacher putting his foot close to the girls’ face in an activity room at 4pm.
They were confirmed to be fourth-grade students.
Speaking to the TV station, teacher Lian insisted it was a joke.
He explained: ‘I play with my students all the time. That day when I went into the classroom, they said my feet were stinky. So I took off my shoes and let them see if they really smelt.’
He admitted his behaviour was ‘uncivilised’ and ‘thoughtless’.
