The Student Union Government (SUG) of Chukwuemeka Odumemegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) Igbariam, on Monday April 24, held a praise and worship night as part of the on-going Students’ Week.
The event which took place at the Tetfund (ETF) auditorium at about 10pm recorded a large turn-out of students.
Speaking during the event, Pastor John James who was invited to admonish the students said that he was very happy as the school deemed it fit to start her SUG week by first acknowledging God and has marked out this day to give praise to His holy name.
In his message, Pastor James made urged the students to desist from all sexual immorality and all forms of bad behaviour that they see as school life, saying all could ruin someone’s life totally. Pastor James concluded his sermon with an altar call for those who wanted to give their life to Christ, and this witnessed a huge turn-out of students.
In an interview, the Students Union Government(SUG) Governor, Comrade Clement Anumudu, it observed that the praise night was successful and better than others organized in the past due to the turn out of the students.
“I will be coming for all the events which will be happening in this students week and expect the students to keep on with what they are doing”, Comrade Anumudu said.
Though the veteran gospel singer, Gozie Okeke who was slated to perform at the event failed to turn up, nothing in the atmosphere reflected any form of disappointment as the students who turned out in large numbers had a fun-filled night.
