The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the winner of the Anambra governorship election.
He was declared the winner after INEC conducted a supplementary election in Ihiala local government area of the state on November 9.
Recall that after the November 6 election, INEC declared the exercise inconclusive since the election was not conducted in Ihiala .
After the election was done on November 9, Prof. Florence Obi, INEC’s Chief Returning Officer for the election declared Soludo the winner of Anambra Election in the early hours of Wednesday at INEC headquarters, Awka.
The new governor defeated his close rivals, Mr Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Andy Uba to emerge winner.
He polled a total of112,229 votes while Valentine scored 53, 807.
On the other hand, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Andy Uba got a total of 43,285 votes to emerge the third position.
