The final round of World Cup qualifying is taking place, and 28 countries are already assured of their places alongside hosts Russia at next summer’s 32-team tournament.
There were huge surprises on elite football nations who failed to pass the qualifying tests. Some of the teams that disappointed most include: Italy (2006 Champions), Holland (2010 finalists), Chile (South American Champions), Cote d’Ivoire (2015 AFCON Champions) and USA.
However, some teams had an easy way through to Russia while the likes of Argentina fought it out in towards the end of the series. Here is the list of 29 teams who’re already warming their team jets to Russia:
Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Iceland, Iran, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Russia (hosts), Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia and Uruguay.
