Retired UNN lecturer dies of Coronavirus (Update with photo)

A former lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), Dr. Pius C. Agba, has died of coronavirus-related complications.

Dr. Agba who was one of the pioneer staff of the first journalism department in Africa, reportedly died on Thursday, April 16, in New Jersey, USA, after testing positive to Covid-19.

The report of his death was confirmed by his daughter, Yvonne Agba-Mefor.

A source at UNN told our correspondent that Dr. Agba had been having health challenges before he tested positive to Covid-19, leading to his demise.
Dr. retired from UNN in 2000.
