Pastors Should Apologize When Their Prophecies Fail To Happen – Bishop Okonkwo Blows Hot

Bishop Mike Okonkwo, ex-president of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and General Overseer of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), has stirred controversy after calling out pastors who make prophesies which don’t come to pass, advising such clerics to apologize to their members.

He disclosed this in an interview with Leadership, while speaking on politics and economic development.

According to Okonkwo: “Anyone who makes a prophetic declaration let him stand by his prophetic declaration, if it didn’t come to pass let him come and apologise to the church that he lied.

“There is nothing wrong that you make a prophesy and out went over the bar, come to church and tell the church that you lied.

“What annoys me is that you come and begin to paint it, I didn’t say it this way because I said it this way, that is nonsense. You make a prophesy, it fails, you are a human being, come to the church and say I fail.”

This comment has gone viral, generating mixed feelings among social media users.

  1. So many pastors today in the bid to attract members, not just give false teachings and prophesies, soil their hands and involve themselves in horrible things all in the name of Jesus. Odiegwu!!!

  2. Recession dey every where…… what do you expect them to do ? since it is the only means of survival for them
