Outrage In India As Policeman Beats Up Elderly Woman, Drags Her By Her Hair To The Ground

There is outrage in India as a viral video shows policeman beating up an elderly woman and dragging her by her hair to the ground.

The Punjab Police officer was filmed brutally thrashing a senior citizen and dragging her by her hair last week in Bathinda district.

Reports say the victim, Jasbir Kaur, is a brick kiln labourer. According to her, the owner of the kiln — believed to be a close aide of the Congress party leader Gurpreet Kangar — wasn’t paying wages as per government rates, reports India Today.

She and other labourers were protesting on Saturday, and the owner used police force against them.

A police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Kuldeep Singh verbally abused Jasbir Kaur, who was objecting to the police’s use of force against her family members.

Then, Singh began hitting her mercilessly. He didn’t stop there; he dragged her by her hair and threw her on the ground. Nobody helped.

A complaint has been made to the deputy commissioner.
