Nsukka Branch of Liverpool FC Fans Go For Thanksgiving In Church To Celebrate Champions League Victory

Liverpool fans, Nsukka branch are currently buzzing the internet after gathering in Church on Sunday to thank God for their club’s historic Champions League win.

Facebook user, Odinaka Onwudor who shared photos from the service on the social media platform wrote:

“Yesterday, Liverpool fans Nsukka branch (Enugu state, Nigeria) went for thanksgiving in the Church. Thanking God for the Champions League triumph. Kudos to you guys!
We want to achieve more success next season.”

Some reactions to the story on social media are blaming this level of fanaticism to the fall of local football league in Nigeria. This school of thought argues that people are engrossed in watching foreign league that they fail to pay attention to local league. Others argue that the local league has nothing to make people leave top quality European league just to watch people playing on patched football pitch with little or no quality of play to enjoy.
