Peace Corp of Nigeria Salary

According to their official website, the Peace Corp of Nigeria is funded from the following sources: Donations from Local and International Donor Agencies; Grants for specific projects; Subventions from Governments and Private Corporations; Enlistments Fee; Identity Card Fees; Weekly Development Fee by Members; Camp Fees; Gifts and Bequest.

Monies gotten from these sources are used to pay up the officers and staff of the corp. Also, graduates salary of the Nigerian Peace Corp should be higher than those recruited with o’level certificates. Recruitment into the corp is also done yearly.

Nigerian Peace Corp membership

The Nigerian Peace Corp has three membership categories. They are;

1. Permanent Staff Officers
2. Peace Corps Volunteer
3. Student Membership

Permanent Staff Officers

This position is available to unemployed youths and they can apply through the Alternative Employment Scheme (AES). People who want to apply for this position should have a minimum academic qualification of the Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE). After training, successful candidates are given the status of Staff Officers. This category of members called permanent members are entitled to the monthly stipend which they get as benefit for the job they do.

Peace Corp Volunteer

The volunteers do not get any form of remuneration. They are making themselves available to serve as Peace Corp Members so they don’t receive remuneration but they are entitled to an identity Card, Uniform, Kits, T-shirts, fez-caps. But they will be paid an honorarium whenever they are involved as resource persons during programmes and events.

Anyone interested in enlisting into Peace Corps Volunteer Cadre can obtain a form from the National Headquarters or any of the State Commands, including the FCT. What Peace Corps Volunteers basically do is to serve as Peace Ambassadors in their various fields of professional calling by mediating between warring factions when the need arises in accordance with the Multi-Track Disciplinary Approach to Conflict Resolution. Peace Corps Student Membership

This position is available to all students of Educational Institutions. This category of membership is also on voluntary basis and restricted to students in schools only.
