A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the League of Progressives Ambassadors of Nigeria (LEPAN), has held an empowerment seminar in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam Campus, calling on students to come out and vote during the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State.
The event was held in collaboration with National Union of Anambra State Students (NUASS) of the COOU chapter, Igbariam campus.
Programme Officer of LEPAN, Mr. Olalekan Adigun, said that the #1vote movement is a social movement and an initiative of the NGO.
He also added that the #1vote movement started as a result of the Anambra state election, urging students to come out to vote for the forthcoming election in Anambra state.
One of the organizers of the event, Mr. Jude Iloh said that the event was organised for Youths fight against voting apathy in students and also give youths a decision so as not to make mistake in choosing a leader in the forthcoming election. He added that the #1vote movement was used to create democratic awareness among the Youth in the state.
