List of Campus Newspapers In Nigerian Universities

 

Campus newspapers diligently and accurately cover school happenings. They serve as platforms by which students can convey their thoughts and opinions. Mass Communication departments publish these newspapers as a way of fostering student journalism. You don’t have to be a mass communication or journalism student to write for campus newspapers. People who are not in mass communication or journalism departments but want to develop a career path in journalism can contribute to the newspaper in many different ways. This is why campus newspapers are very essential not just as training newspapers for mass communication students but for encouraging other students to pursue a career part in journalism while keeping the public informed about activities in the university community and its environs. Writing for a campus newspaper gives you a well-rounded set of writing and research skills, regardless of your department.

Mass Communication departments in Nigerian Universities have training newspapers which provide a platform for keeping the reading public informed about activities on and off campus. Though most of these newspapers are not regular, their existence contributes immensely in sharpening the skills of student journalists.
