There are several skilled On-Air Personalities (OAPs) in the broadcast media landscape in Owerri which is very competitive and exciting. The battle for audience attention has been taken to the sphere of programme presenters where OAPs use their captivating presentation skills to win audience members to their stations. A number of these media personalities stand out among others as the most preferred among the audience. Among them is Lilian Duru, an AOP with the most captivating voice on radio.

Who is Lilian Duru Valentine?

Lilian Duru Valentine, aka Brownyclod, is a multi-talented OAP whose presence as a staff of The Reach 104.5 FM took the station above others in the broadcasting industry in Imo State. She then moved to Toast 90.3 FM Owerri where she is one of the outstanding voices positioning the station as a household brand in the state. She is a carpet/event host, transcriber, elocutionist, newscaster and programme host.


Lilian is a graduate of English Language Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). After her graduation in 2012 she proceeded to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for her National Youth Service Corpse (NYSC) programme.


Lilian is an outstanding young broadcaster with impressive pedigree. She began to follow her passion for broadcasting while working with the Orientation Broadcasting Service in the NYSC, at Nonwa-Gbam Tai in Rivers State, and while working in Radio Rivers as a Presenter under the Editorial Board CDS. Having had a taste of what it’s like to be a Presenter, she then wanted to achieve more in the industry. Her desires pushed her on to becoming a Programme Host with Alaowerri Tv, and then Megaband 97.3 FM as a Newscaster/Programme Host, all in Owerri, Imo State. She worked with Alaowerri media services from September 2017 to March 2018. She then moved to Megaband 97.3 FM Owerri, where she worked from March 2018 to September 2018. She moved to The Reach 104.5 FM Owerri, October 2018 where she worked as a newscaster and presenter. At The Reach 104.5 FM Owerri, Lilian anchored Naija View, Politics 104 and My Kid at Reach FM Owerri.  She then moved to Toast 90.3 FM Owerri where she quickly became one of the best hands the station could boast of. This pretty presenter is also a versatile communication consultant. She was one the Project Manager and Moderator of a Social Impact Project, held in Owerri, a project that was funded by The Mandela Washington Fellowship. The project was geared towards mentoring and equipping youth/students on the power of social media, and how to get the best of it, how to request for loans/grants, and build startups. The workshop was held at Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State.
As the Project Manager and Moderator, she supervised the running around to secure of venue, built programme attendance database, provided media and logistics support as well as ensure the smooth transition of each segments of the day.


Lilian’s outstanding performance as a skilled programme presenter has earned her numerous recognitions by individuals and organizations. She was nominated as Most outstanding On Air Personality by Imo Icons Awards. One of her most notable career achievements is winning the On-Air Personality of the Year award in the 2019 edition of E-Celeb Awards.


Lilian’s presentation skills give listeners memorable radio experience which keeps them loyal to any station she works for. She is calm and cool, yet one of the hottest female OAPs in Owerri. She is a model and inspiration to many young girls who wish to pursue a career in the broadcasting industry in Nigeria.
