Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has urged the Nigerian Air Force to create a department for happiness and purpose fulfillment.
This is coming amidst controversies trailing the creation of a new ministry for “Happiness and Purpose fulfilment” in the state.
The governor, made this call weekend in Owerri, when officers of the Nigeria Airforce, led by the Air officer, commanding, ground training command, AVM Sampson Akpasa visited him at the government House Owerri.
He explained that this call became necessary, because according to him, “Nigerians are unhappy people” pointing out that agitations insurgence, hate-speeches and other vices come up when people are not happy.
Governor Okorocha, however, commended the force, for the good work they are doing especially their fight against insurgency and currently what is happening in Numan Adamawa state and the efforts to restore peace in the troubled area.
He also thanked the force for bringing regiment 211, to Imo state saying, that in appreciation, the state government has donated a 200 bed hospital to the Nigeria Airforce.
According to him, the state will also donate to the force, the school for training of electricians and artisans, school of the Airforce.
In his speech the leader of the officers, A.V.M Akpasa Sampson, commended governor for the transformations that have since taken place in the state, under the leadership of the governor.
According to him, the team came to the state on familiarization tour of the constituents security outfits established through an instrument on July, 2017, pointing out that Enugu was carved out of other commands due to clumsy administration.
He called for collaboration and synergy as key in all security challenges and asked for more cooperation in Imo state and other South-Eastern states through their command in Enugu.
