Anti-tithing Controversies and Free the Sheeple Movement
Daddy Freeze’s popularity grew after he was featured on a viral YouTube video condemning churches and pastors that ask their members to pay tithe. He said it was not biblical. This drew attacks against him by several pastors and some of their members to the extent that one of them even threatened that Daddy Freeze would die if he continued his anti-tithe preaching. Daddy Freeze then formed a religious movement he called Free the Sheeple which he said was aimed at setting people free from the doctrine of tithing. The group is also about teaching what Daddy Freeze refers to as ‘the real truth’ about Christ Jesus while dealing with old Christian myths.
The controversial OAP saw the formation of Free the Sheeple group as a special calling. He sees himself as a founder of an online church. He even organized his ministerial outreach to London in 2018, which was another very controversial development. This was because the event held without him present so he said it was an example to those who usually spent billions of naira on private jet travelling across the world to preach, insisting that it could be done without travelling. Daddy Freeze has continued to grow in controversy till date especially with his Free the Sheeple doctrines.
