Hunger! Daylight Robber Steals Palm Oil, Spaghetti from Female Student’s Room in Otoko

Written by Vivian Nwufo

A 100 level student of English Language Department, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Miss. Ruth Okafor, has raised alarm over the ransacking of her room on Tuesday, May 23, by yet-to-be-identified hoodlum. The incident happened in one of the Lodges located in Otoko, one of the communities close to Igbariam campus of COOU where many students reside.

Miss Okafor had gone for lectures in the morning only to return later in the day to discover that her room had been broken into by unknown person who made away with her belongings which include master card, phone, clothes, money, palm oil, spaghetti and other food stuff.

She said that her spare key was stolen a few days earlier and she had made this report during their lodge meeting. She added that she was suspecting fowl play as the hoodlums neatly unlocked her room, made away with the belongings and locked the door. She called for more security measure to be taken to protect students’ belongings when they are off to school for lectures.

The lodge President who pleaded anonymity said in an interview that the hoodlum had gained entrance by jumping the fence into the compound. “I call on the hoodlum to quietly return the girls belongings to avoid any further trouble because we will surely investigate the matter and fish out the culprit,” he added.

Reacting to the incident, the Assistant Director of Anti-Cult Unit, COOU, Mr. Eugene Agim confirmed the incident and said he had visited the scene of the crime in the course of investigation. He advised students not to trust themselves and to guard their property jealously because “your best friend could be the targeting your belongings the minute you turn your back without your knowledge.” Agim further advised that students to call on their landlords to change the lock of their rooms when they discover that the door locks look alike, because most times one of the keys could open all the locks. According to him, “this is serious because somebody can enter a person’s room and poison her food and still lock back the door. Students should also try to use two locks on their door. The can used the lock on the door and an  a padlock to fortify the room.”

  4. Students really need to be careful both with the kind of friends we keep because it’s the rat at home that informs the rat in the Bush that there is fish in d house… The same goes to we human beings it’s our friend that could be the culprit which he or she claims he is not.. We just have to be careful expecially in whatever we eat to avoid food poisoning.
When it comes to the case of stealing things in one’s room the Anti cult should please safeguard our lives because that’s truly their job.. From stealing things now it can warrant to their lives being taken as a result of shutting them up when they caught the culprit.
Let’s be careful with whatever it is we do.

hmmmm na waooo no one is to be trusted anymore just few…….God please save us ooo our eyes are on you. Some measures should be strictly put in place for the security of the students, because it can be very painful for a student to go out for lectures only to return & notice that her things has been stolen.
