Great Job! NYSC Member Who Studied Mass Comm in COOU Shoots Movie on HIV/AIDS, Teenage Pregnancy, Abortion

A graduate of Mass Communication, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Amaruchukwu Akaigwe, has made a landmark achievement in service year by completing the shooting of a movie themed around HIV/AIDS, abortion, child prostitution and teenage pregnancy.

Akaigwe who is currently serving in Ibadan, Oyo State, said in an exclusive interview with massmediang, that she was inspired to go into production of the movie by activities of the anti HIV/AIDS groups she joined as a corper. She said the movies partly teaches how to care for people living with HIV.

She said she felt movies were good channels for driving home messages against vices among the youth so she decided to write the script, produce and direct the movie with the help of some friends.

She said the movie will soon be dropped for public consumption as it is currently undergoing some final editorial finishing touches.
