Ruth Ukachukwu, a 200 level student of Department of English and Literary Studies, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, (COOU), has won a debate on political awareness in Anambra Sate, organised by League of Progressive Ambassadors of Nigeria (LEPAN).
The debate which took place on Friday, November 3, at Political Science hall of the University, saw students engaging themselves in an expression of knowledge on political issues especially the up-coming governorship election in the state. It was organised in collaboration with National Union of Anambra State Students (NUASS).
The debate focused on the importance of voting, especially the upcoming Anambra State governorship election in November 18.
In an interview, the programme officer of LEPAN, Mr Olaleku Adigun, said that the reason behind the competition was that LEPAN wanted to create awareness to the public to know the importance of voting in the society especially in the upcoming election in Anambra state.
