Donald Trump has a liking for dictators, Putin not the most feminist leader: Hillary Clinton

Former US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said that US President Donald Trump has a bromance going on with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Donald Trump has a liking for dictators, said Hillary Clinton at the India Today Conclave in Mumbai today.

Talking about the alleged Russian interference in the US election and the campaign against her, Hillary Clinton said that as a US Secretary of State in 2011, she had said that people of Russia deserved free and fair elections.

She said that Putin blamed her for people protesting on the streets in Russia and he was very upset about it. Clinton said that she was also outspoken about Russia’s role in Syria.

Describing Putin, Hillary Clinton said that he is not the most feminist leaders and has a tight grip on power. Hillary said that Putin says that he wants to restore the greatness of Russia and expand its borders.

ON LOSING PRESIDENTIAL RACE

The former US Secretary of State said that he never thought she was going to lose the elections. She said that Donald Trump ran a reality television campaign.

She said that similar to a reality TV show, the contestant who was the most attacking got the maximum ratings. Hillary Clinton said that the US voters were drawn to the role he was playing as a presidential candidate.

Clinton, however, said, that post-elections she felt that instead of ignoring him, she should have responded to his personal attacks.

WHAT ELSE SHE SAID:

Hillary Clinton said that she has no plans to run for the next presidential campaign but added that the next US elections will be eventful.

She said that vote for Trump showed that there was a sense among people of being left behind in a fast-changing economy, part of it was a reaction against immigrants and more rights to women and LGBT communities.

Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton said, started his presidential campaign by attacking immigrants, and drumming up anti-immigrant feeling.

Hillary Clinton said that immediately after former FBI director James Comey’s letter on his investigation into her emails, her ratings dropped among white women who, she thought, were going to vote for her.

On Donald Trump’s foreign policy, Hillary Clinton said works on the basis of little real information. She said that the US president does not want to engage with the tough work of diplomacy as all his diplomats have left.
