Do You Know About The Edible Nail Polish Made By KFC?

This is really weird but innovations know no bounds. Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), is one of the world’s leading fast food restaurants. This company has taken food business to the cosmetics industry, producing a chicken-flavoured edible nail polish that will surely thrill you. Checkout the story.

KFC’s Edible Nail Polish

It’s finger lickin’ good! What more can you say when one of the most revered fried chicken restaurants in all of Asia decides to start bringing its flavorful taste to the world of cosmetics? Well, to be fair, quite a few people have said ‘gross,’ so there is plenty of room for disagreement. Either way, Kentucky Fried Chicken had introduced two chicken-flavored nail polishes in the Hong Kong market.

The product was first announced around April Fools’ Day of 2016, but it was no joke. Food scientists at McCormick, the spice supplier for KFC, worked with a nail polish producer attached to the Ogilvy & Mather marketing firm. Two flavors are being produced: Original and Hot & Spicy. For those who have never succumbed to a late night chicken run to the Colonel, those are the restaurant chain’s two most popular types of chicken seasoning. According to a representative for Ogilvy & Mather, the nail polish works just like any other. It even dries with a glossy shine. Once it has dried, then it is time to start licking away. KFC claims that the application will last for up to three days with regular licking.

Originally, only a special collector’s box was unveiled, but they have since gone on sale to the public. KFC is asking Hong Kong residents to vote on their preferred flavor. Once enough votes are tallied, Kentucky Fried Chicken will begin mass-producing the winning flavor. Similar fruit- and vegetable-flavored nail polishes have been marketed to children in the past under the name Kid Licks. However, there has always been a concern that the cosmetic itself is unsafe, to say nothing of the unhygienic finger licking encouraged by this type of product. In the latest poll, Original is narrowly leading Hot & Spicy. In case you’re still on the fence, Ogilvy & Mather has you covered. They created a weird music video to go along with the product release. You have to give KFC credit for still trying to expand its brand.
