Disgusting! Medical Council to Close Hospital Due to Extremely Poor Conditions, women Defecate in plastic bag

This sounds unbelievable but it is true. The hospital is overcrowded with women who share beds and have no toilet facility because the existing ones are blocked. The patients use polythene bags to defecate.
This is the Dowa district hospital in Malawi which has been existing like this for a long time before the Medical Council of Malawi (MCM) decided to close down the hospital on Thursday, August 4.
One of the major challenges of the hospital is the challenges like blockage of flush toilets, no pit latrines.
It is said that come to wait for labour and delivery and guardians to use plastic carrier bag when they want to defecate.
