Coronavirus: Para-military men ‘make’ Owerri residents line up to wash hands in the streets (Video)

Watch as residents of Owerri, capital city of Imo State line up to wash hands and get their hands sanitized in the middle of the city.

Well, this is part of efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the entire state.

Scores of people were seen lining up to wash their hands before getting them sanitized. This happened today, Monday, March 30, at the popular Ama JK junction, Douglas road Owerri.

Residents of the area were ‘made’ to do so by men of the Federal Fire Service who were actually on awareness campaign against spread of coronavirus.

The Federal Fire Service men were sensitizing people to follow approved hygiene methods to stay safe though no case of coronavirus has been recorded in the city. As they engaged in the public enlightenment campaign, they offered free hand sanitizers to passers by and passengers in commercial vehicles. People willingly accepted the gesture probably to enjoy the free gifts.
