COOU chaplaincy holds Annual Women Convention

The Anglican society of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu  University (COOU) held her inaugural women convention at the School’s Chapel, on Saturday May 13. The theme of the convention was “Discover to Recover.”

The program started at about 10:30am with an opening prayer led by the supervisor, Canon Rowland Obi which was followed immediately with praise and worship by the choir.

In an opening remark, the chair person, Mrs Chioma Obi, emphasised how grateful the chaplaincy was to the V.C Prof. Fidelis Okafor who was always there for them whenever they called upon him. Mrs. Obi also said that the event was organized to celebrate the Chapel becoming a Deanery.
Speaking in the event during exposition and seed sowing, a guest at the occasion, Rev. Canon Kperechukwu Nwakwo advised women to emulate the life of a woman named Monica who never gave up on her notorious son but kept praying for him until there was a change.

    COOU HOLDS WOMEN CONFERENCE

    The women conference held by the anglican church kicked off Saturday, May 13, took place in mini Chapel at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU). Mrs Chioma Obi, the wife of supervisor Canon Rowland Obi said that the event was held to celebrate one year of the Chapel becoming a deanery.
    Speaking in the conference the supervisor Mr Rowland Obi said that we need to develop our talent and use them wisely as children of God and also strengthen our faith in Lord Jesus and that at the end we will give either good act or bad act of our human race.
    Also speaking in the conference Rev Canon Kperechukwu Nwankwo has said that we should not give room to the enemy instead we should protect our family.
    He also added that charity begins at home and also advises us not to misplace our priority.
    He said that if you are not in Christ you are not in the light and if you are not born again you are in darkness.

    The program started at exactly 10:30 am but before then around 9:30 am_10:00 am registration was taken, every member was to write her name before going in to indicate she was at the program

    After the arrival and registration the supervisor Canon Rowland obi led the opening prayer after the prayer the band took over with praise and worship which took 15 minutes and the supervisor canon did a little bit of sermon
    The Canon’s wife, Mrs chioma obi which is the president of the women deaners in the diocese used the little opportunity she had to thank the women for coming saying it was not an easy thing for some of them to make it possible to be here and that she is very excited about it
    A guest speaker was invited to the programme by the name Revd kperechukwu Nwakwo he gave the sermon. During the sermon, he used that opportunity to give advice to mother’s, father’s and also youth’s which were present at the programme saying that many homes are been broken due to there is no God in the home, were there is no God in the home, the home will not be peaceful so they should allow God to take charge over their homes
    Immediately after the sermon Mrs chioma obi used that opportunity to say little about the programme she stated that it’s an annual programme. The reason of the programme is to quicken the spirit of the women on unity, to bring them as one.

    Deanery Women Conference Held In Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.(COOU)

    The women conference meeting, held on Saturday may 13 took place in chukwuemeka odumegwu ojukwu university (coou).it was gathered that students came out in numbers to participate in the event, though a number of them were doing so without the event in their mind.
    In Anambra state, where some students of chukwuemeka odumegwu ojukwu university (coou) ,were residing in the event, which went on smoothly.
    The event happened to be started by 9am with more less than 30 participants in the event were more the students.
    In the event, a woman who identified herself as chioma obi,the chairman’s wife, whom expressed joy to became deanery over a year.
    It was also gathered that most of the participants of the conference came just to gathered information.
    The chairman said that we as a youth should make used of our talents, that we should learn how to display our talents because we are talented.

    WOMEN CONFERENCE HELD IN COOU.
    Coou university deanery women conference held on Saturday 13th may 2017,It started with the arrival and registration of women followed by praise and worship by the band group exactly 10am .
    Canon Rowland obi I @read the daily devotion from the book of Matthew 25:14 in an opening remark said by the chair person Mrs chioma obi thanking the women that came for service most especially the vice chancellor professor fidelis okoafor .
    The exposition and seedsowing was led by rev Canon kperechukwu nwankwo who said that the theme of the day is discover to recover and he took his reading from first Samuel.
    The vote of thanks was said by lady nneka obumse she thank everyone for their immense contribution towards the renovation of the chaplency.
    The supervisor priest is the person that started the building of the chaplency, the wife of the Canon at the end of the program was given twenty thousand naira by the conference women.

    The women conference held by the Anglican Church took place Saturday May 13 at 10am,took place at chukwuemeka odumegwu ojukwu university. Mrs Chioma obi,wife to the supervisor Mr Rowland Obi talked about the purpose of the event which is to celebrate one year of the chapel becoming a deneary and thanks Prof Fidelis Okafor for his assistance
    Speaking in the conference, the supervisor Mr Rowland Obi said that we should develop our talents and make use of them wisely as children of God and also strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ and at the end,an account will be recorded.
    Also speaking in the conference, our Reverend, Rev Canon Kperechukwu Nwankwo appealed to the women to sow seed in their children life and never get tired because Monica never got tired of her son and we should not give room for an enemy rather we should create space for our family

    According to the chairperson of the occasion mrs chioma obi, she said that the chaplaincy are happy for the vice- chancellor, prof. fedelis okafor who is always their for The whenever they called him.

  12. COOU HOLDS WOMEN CONFERENCE
    The Anglican women conference which held on 8 may, in a chapel located in the school premises.
    The event which started by 10pm with the arrival and registration of the women, and it was also followed by the praise and worship stage taken by the band.
    The wife of the chaplain Mrs Chioma Obi stated that it was an annual event held for the purpose of having a vibrant women fellowship on the campus.
    The Canon Rowland Obi who opened the event with a spirit filled sermon based on faithfulness, and also gave words of wisdom to those present.
    Also invited to speak was Revd Canon kperechukwu Nwankwo, who also spoke on vital areas of the life of a Christian,by centering his points on king David.
    A mid prayer which was taken by Mrs Fidelia Okeke, after which a conference song was taken to usher in the address. Lunch was served and after which, the health talk was given, After which the closing prayer was taken.
