The Anglican society of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) held her inaugural women convention at the School’s Chapel, on Saturday May 13. The theme of the convention was “Discover to Recover.”
The program started at about 10:30am with an opening prayer led by the supervisor, Canon Rowland Obi which was followed immediately with praise and worship by the choir.
In an opening remark, the chair person, Mrs Chioma Obi, emphasised how grateful the chaplaincy was to the V.C Prof. Fidelis Okafor who was always there for them whenever they called upon him. Mrs. Obi also said that the event was organized to celebrate the Chapel becoming a Deanery.
Speaking in the event during exposition and seed sowing, a guest at the occasion, Rev. Canon Kperechukwu Nwakwo advised women to emulate the life of a woman named Monica who never gave up on her notorious son but kept praying for him until there was a change.
