Chelsea FC of England have suspended plans to build a new 60 thousand capacity stadium.
This followed Britain’s refusal to renew Club owner, Roman Abramovich’s visa, as a result of which he got citizenship in Israel and plans to relocate to that country.
A statement from the club posted on its website says they have shelved plans to build the new stadium due to what they described as “current unfavourable investment climate.”
The statement continued, “No further pre-construction Design and planning work will continue. The club does not have a time frame set for reconsideration of its decision.”
This announcement came after Prime Minister Theresa May’s spokesperson said Abramovich could only enter Britain on a visitor visa and cannot work in the country.
