
Former Secretary General of apex Igbo umbrella body, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Nduka Eya, has been kidnapped in Enugu by unknown gunmen.
The elder statesman who was also a one-time Resident Electoral Commissioner REC, in Ekiti state, South- West Nigeria, was abducted from his Enugu residence at Independent Layout, Enugu on Thursday night .
It was gathered that the kidnappers, have established contact with the family, and are demanding a N15 million ransom before they will release him.
Eya, who may be in his 70s, was also a former Commissioner for Education in the old Anambra State.
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ebere Amarizu, has confirmed the incident, even though, he did not give details of the incident.
Hmmmm……. 15million for his release….
