Atu is one of the fiercest yet most exciting masquerades you can find in the South Eastern part of Nigeria. You rarely see it anywhere but I was able to trace this masquerade to Oraifite, a community in Anambra State, Nigeria. Atu is an animal which means Buffalo in English language. So you can imagine a masquerade existing as a Buffalo. It means there will be no dull moment around such masquerade and Atu really got the audience excited.
This edition of rural news tourism is very interesting.
