Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has said the union will embark on nation-wide indefinite strike on Monday, November 13.
In a letter addressed to the Minister of Education, signed by National Chairman of the Union, Usman Dutse, it was stated that the strike notice followed expiration of 21-day ultimatum issued over its seven-point demand to the federal government and poor representation of the Ministry of Education during meetings with government on ASUP demands.
The Union further condemned the attitude of the Federal Government team towards
resolution of the dispute, adding that government was showing discrimination in addressing the problem.
The Union then called on its members to proceed on indefinite strike on November 13 until the demands of the union are satisfactorily met by government.
