Ajaanukwu Festival in Omor is a wonderful tourist attraction

Ajaanukwu festival is held annually in Omor, a community in Ayamelum LGA of Anambra State, Nigeria. It is one fantastic event that is filled with intrigues and exciting moments as the people display rich culture of their land.

Ajanaukwu Omor is what the festival is fondly called. This refers to Supreme god of Omor. Ajaanaukwu is an annual festival that is celebrated by Omor Community. People from neigbouring communities also attend the event. Stories have it that the festival that was handed down to Omor by her ancestral father.

Ajaanaukwu festival is celebrated between February and March each year. Though preparations span over a long period of time, the activities intensify as the day for the festival draws nearer.
