ACSPN

The Association of Communication Scholars & Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) has launched an online initiative for mentor-mentee interaction across the globe.

This was contained in a statement circulated by General Secretary of ACSPN, Prof. Nosa Owen-Ibie.

According to the statement, the initiative called “Ask Me” is :a Mentor/Mentee Sessions Webinar Initiative, through which mentees (and other participants) from any part of the world who participate in any of the webinars, would be able to ask questions on any issue from a featured guest. Each session is targeted to last an hour, and planned to be quarterly.”

This is a follow-up to a similar programme launched by the association in 2018, according to the statement.

“On April 18, 2015, the Association of Communication Scholars & Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN), launched the ACSPN Mentorship Conversation Series (AMCS) – as a premium content, accessible to currently subscribed members. It offered mentors and mentees opportunity to share information/ideas on different areas of communication scholarship and practice. Members were encouraged to ask questions in any area requiring clarification, so identified mentors would provide answers for upload on the website.

“We are pleased to therefore, announce the launch of the follow-up initiative – the ACSPN “Ask Me” – a Mentor/Mentee Sessions Webinar Initiative, through which mentees (and other participants) from any part of the world who participate in any of the webinars, would be able to ask questions on any issue from a featured guest. Each session is targeted to last an hour, and planned to be quarterly.

“Interested mentors (academics or professionals, local and international) whose broad expertise would be announced, are to be selected, based on parameters designed to offer mentees a rewarding hour for each session. Interested mentors with value-added expertise in communication scholarship and practice, are encouraged to indicate interest to feature, by contacting the ACSPN Secretariat.”

The statement further directs interested persons to visit the ACSPN website www.acspn.com.ng , scroll down the page and click on
