Osun State-born Miss Lateefat Abiola Oyeleye has become the overall best medical student of all the 564 final year graduating students of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ukraine.
Miss Oyeleye was one of the 85 stranded medical students of the Osun State University, UNIOSUN who were unable to complete their studies following the failure of the institution to get the National Universities Commission (NUC) approval for the course in 2012 due to lack of a medical school.
The Renaissance reports that when Governor Rauf Aregbesola came on board in 2014, he decided to fully sponsor the entire 85 students that belonged to two different sets to complete their Medical studies at the Kharkiv National University, Ukraine. Of the 85, fifty have become Medical Doctors after they all passed the Krok 2 examinations in one of the oldest universities in Eastern Europe.
All the 50 UNIOSUN students who wrote the exams, of the entire 564 Medical students presented by V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University for the final medical school exams passed from the result released. The final set of the then stranded UNIOSUN Medical students who are now 32 in number will graduate in May 30, 2018.
Kharkiv university today rates among the best Eastern Europe classical universities. Since its foundation, the University has graduated over 130,000 students. It also remains the only university in Ukraine that has produced three Nobel Prize laureates.
