The title of this work says it all. The news feature story is all about the sug night which was held in Awukuzu on Friday 28 April 2017.
The event” Mass communication student wins Mr Ansu”. kicked off on a ground style by the student union government chukwuemeka odumegwu ojukwu university, the story of the event was an excellent one following an amazing speech from Okonkwo Donatus.
The reporter was able to use a very good and simple English for her readers to understand, she made it simple in such a way that a layman can understand…
the major weakness about this writeup is that the writer wasn’t accurate on her speelings and abbreviation. Secondly the use of capital and small letters wrongly.
The writer has done a very nice job on this.

The Coou 2017 sug night was a blast. Many students in different departments attended the event. The event was fun filled nd will remain in the minds of the students.
The writer tries to talk of d guest whom spoke to the students in the person of Mr.Okonkwo Donatus (an aspirant in the 2017 Gubernatorial elections) . The story also talks about the promises made by the aspirant to the students.
One major flaw in this story is that the writer failed to mention the name of the mass communication student that won the Mr.Ansu title. The writer also made a mistake at the beginning of the news where she was supposed to write COOU but instead she wrote COOK.

The SUG night that was held at jonab hotel was spectacular. It was filled with so much excitement and fun. A 200 level mass communication student, Buruche progress and also a 200 level entrepreneur student, Iloani Stella Amaka both won the Mr/Miss COOU contest. The SUG night was in agog Inspite of this fact the reporter was able to stipulate her facts swiftly to enhance clarity.
The reporter interviewed Okonkwo Donatus an Anambra state governorship aspirant. He promised to reduce the schoool fees of the institution if elected. Also he said that the winners of the contest would participate in Mr and Miss Nigeria beauty contest.
Winner of Miss COOU, Stella Amaka urge the students that no talent is a waste
and this made the news story a little bit encouraging. In this report, the aspirant used the S UG night as a platform for his campaign. Also by saying that everyone should make sure they register for voters card.
This news story has some typographical error. The reporter was at least straight to the point. The last paragraph of the news story was suppose to end with just that quote and not to add okonkwo said again.

It talks about how six girls and four boys contested for mr/mrs coou and how the showcased their talents. Though the story didn’t get the full details in the story, jhon didn’t get d full introduction, he took everything brief which trends to some omission. E.g he didn’t give clear introduction of the occasion. The joyous event was really entertaining. The news report has flaws though as stated above it was not detailed,it lacks pictures. This straight news report by Ujunwa Ibekwe is simply talking about the SUG (student Union Government) night that took place at Joneb Hall,Awkuzu, on 28th April 2017. The writer told how a 200 level student of mass communication won the 2017 edition of the ‘Mr Ansu’ while a 200 level student of Entrepreneur department also won the ‘Miss Ansu’. She also explained how excited the Miss (Iloani Stella Nneamaka) was for emerging as the winner. However, Ujunwa presented her story in an easily comprehensible manner.

It was also gathered that a large number of student really showed up at the event. The writer also narrated how the ‘Anambra Aspiring Governor’, Mr Okonkwo Donatus honoured the occasion and how he promised to reduced the student’s school fees, provide work for the graduating students as well as give chance to Miss Ansu to contest for Miss Nigeria beauty pageant.

The major flaw in this write-up can be seen in the last paragraph where the writer addressed one person twice, that is “according to Okonkwo” and ” Okonkwo said”. The writer also made the mistake of not giving the new Mr Ansu’s name as well as abbreviating words. e.g mass comm.

But aside this major and minor flaws, the writer truly tried her best.
